Praditha Blifa Rahayu directs a film that is characterized by utter realism regarding the circumstances of the blind in Indonesia, with the way the two girls interact also adding a coming-of-age element that enriches the context.The coming-of-age elements, some dreamy scenes which are quite impressive visually, and the horse scene add the fiction elements here, making the film more cinematic.The dialogues are also quite interesting, highlighting both the difference of what blind people experience and the fact that their thoughts and dreams are the same as everyone else’s.

NGIRING BELASUNGKAWA

Upon her father's death, a sole child, only want to pray her father peacefully. But she cannot fulfilled her desire due to tradition, which forces her to take care her father's funeral at a predetermined tariff, including the ones prayer for the deceased. She also experienced a dilemma, must follow the tradition for the smoothness of his father's burial or remain in her stand.

Praditha, a dedicated director and scriptwriter. Her final assignment short film at Jogja Film Academy, Ngiring Belasungkawa (The Envelope of Grief) became one of the most discussed works in Indonesia and received recognition at various national film festivals. Her other short film, A Girl, won the Grand Winner award at the Indonesian Film Festival in Australia in 2023. Continuing her achievements, Praditha’s latest film, Kala Nanti (Maybe Someday), won the Best Short Live Action award in the Asia International Competition at the Short Shorts Film Festival & Asia and also competed at the Alternativa Film Festival in 2024. Since 2019, Praditha is also part of the creative team at Forka Films (formerly Fourcolours Films), a production house that has won numerous international awards and also worked as an assistant director on several films, including Yuni, Before, Now & Then, Cook Book (part of Quarantine Tales), and Back Home.
